To carry out studies on the safety, efficacy and quality control of traditional medicine. | e.g. Project 3 Research in the Comprehensive TCM Treatment and Prevention of Diabetes and its Main Complications is carried out as planned. The second batch of medicine, case history records have been distributed to each research center. Inspections at different levels and joint inspections have been conducted for several times. | e.g. Project 4 Research on TCM Intervention of Ulcerative Colitis and its Efficacy Assessment is continuously carried out as planned. At present 49 patients in affiliated hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, 47 patients in affiliated hospital of Capital MedicalUniversity, 72 patients in the first affiliated hospital of Henan University of TCM, and 21 patients in affiliated hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine have been tested. | e.g. Project 5 Demonstrating Study on the Principle of Diagnosis and Treatment of Clinical Chronic Kidney Disease is carried out as planned. The seminar has collected 180 cases: 60 from Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM, 30 from Guangdong Hospital of TCM, 48 from Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University, and 42 from Xinqiao Hospital attached to The Fourth Military Medical University. | N |
| e.g. Project 6 Research on the Development of Three General Techniques for Pharmaceutics of TCM is drawing to an end. The research work has been finished, while the experimental statistics are being finally summarized. Basically, technical indicators are satisfactory, and problems in the process of research have been approached already. | N |
| 3. To carry out clinical and experimental studies on the application of acupuncture and moxibustion in the prevention and treatment of diseases. | e.g. Project 7 Clinical Research on the Influence of Acupuncture on Tears Secretion of Menopause Xerophthalma is completed. 3 related papers were published. Results indicate that acupuncture does boost tears secretion, prolong the tear membrane break time and help keratopathy restoration with obvious improvement. | N |
