To initiate the research, formulation and promotion of the diagnosis and treatment standards for traditional medicine as well as acupuncture and moxibustion. | e.g. Project 1 Through literature research and Questionnaire Survey, the Integrated TCM with Western Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines and Efficacy Assessment Standards for 40 types of Common Paediatric Diseases including pneumonia, asthma, alvine flux, anorexia, and nephrotic syndrome has been completed, thus providing the common assessment standards for treating the above diseases by the Integrated TCM with Western Medicine. | N | | e.g. Project 2 TCM and Integrated TCM with Western Medicine Treatment Guidelines for infectious diseases such as Epidemic Encephalitis B, Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever and Dengue Fever are completed. To carry out studies on the safety, efficacy and quality control of traditional medicine. | e.g. Project 3 Research in the Comprehensive TCM Treatment and Prevention of Diabetes and its Main Complications is carried out as planned. Altogether 240 high-risk diabetes patients were included in the clinical preventive treatment, with all the cases put into groups.The follow-up observation of cases has been completed, and 5 related papers have been published until late December this year. | N | | e.g. Project 4 Research on TCM Intervention of Ulcerative Colitis and its Efficacy Assessment is continuously carried out as planned. TCM Intevention of Ulcerative Colitis is to develop the treatment of therapeutic effectiveness and characteristics of combing treatment in different stages with treatment of syndrome differentiation.Up till now, more than 176 cases has been collected and put into the data base. | N | | e.g. Project 5 Demonstrating Study on the Principle of Diagnosis and Treatment of Clinical Chronic Kidney Disease is carried out as planned. The seminar has collected 180 cases: 60 from Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM, 30 from Guangdong Hospital of TCM, 48 from Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University, and 42 from Xinqiao Hospital attached to The Fourth Military Medical University. The blinded data review report is completed, one related paper is published and four graduates are cultivated. | N | | e.g. Project 6 The project is drawing to an end, all the research has been finished, and the experimental statistics are being finally summarized. Basically, technical indicators are satisfactory, and problems in the process of research have been approached already. | N | | 3. To carry out clinical and experimental studies on the application of acupuncture and moxibustion in the prevention and treatment of diseases. | e.g. Project 7 Clinical Research on the Influence of Acupuncture on Tears Secretion of Menopause Xerophthalma is completed. Three related papers were published. Results indicate that acupuncture does boost tears secretion, prolong the tear membrane break time and help keratopathy restoration with obvious improvement.
